The short version. Stucy Cafe is a neighbourhood coffee shop, not a data company. Our website has no sign-up, no account and no contact form, so simply browsing stucy.ca tells us almost nothing about you personally. When you order ahead or tap your card, that is handled by Clover, our point-of-sale and online ordering provider. We never see your full card number, and we never sell your information to anyone.
1. Who we are
Stucy Cafe ("Stucy Cafe", "we", "us" or "our") operates the cafe at 15951 Fraser Hwy #101a, Surrey, British Columbia V4N 0Y3, and the website at stucy.ca.
This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
2. Information we collect
When you browse stucy.ca
Our website does not ask you to create an account, and it has no contact or sign-up forms. We use Google Tag Manager and the analytics tools it loads to understand how the site is used. These tools collect:
- pages you viewed and how long you stayed;
- the approximate area you are in, estimated from your IP address (typically city-level, not your street address);
- your device type, browser, operating system and screen size;
- the site or search that referred you to us.
This information is used in aggregate. We are not trying to identify you individually from it, and we do not attempt to link it to your in-store purchases.
When you order ahead online
The "Order Ahead" buttons on our site take you to an ordering page hosted by Clover, a separate company. Once you leave stucy.ca, Clover's own privacy policy governs what happens on that page. To fulfil your order we receive from Clover the details we need: your name, the contact information you provided, your order, the time, and the amount paid. We do not receive or store your full card number.
When you visit or pay in the cafe
- Card payments. Processed through our Clover terminal. Card data goes directly to Clover and its payment processors. Our records show only the transaction amount, date and time, the card type and the last four digits.
- Video surveillance. Our premises are monitored by security cameras for the safety of our staff and customers and for loss prevention. Footage is not monitored in real time and is not used for marketing or staff performance.
When you contact us
If you email us, message us on Instagram, or leave a review, we receive whatever you choose to send: your name or handle, your contact details, and the content of your message. We keep this only as long as needed to deal with your question.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. On stucy.ca they are used for analytics and for third-party content we embed, not for advertising.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and most browsers offer a "Do Not Track" or private browsing mode. Blocking cookies will not stop you from using stucy.ca.
4. How we use your information
- To prepare and hand over the orders you place.
- To take payment and keep the accounting and tax records the law requires of us.
- To answer your questions, handle a complaint, or sort out a problem with an order.
- To understand how the website and menu are being used so we can improve them.
- To keep our staff, customers and premises safe.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
5. What we never do
- We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
- We do not build advertising profiles about you or share your details with data brokers.
- We do not add you to a marketing list because you bought a coffee.
6. Who we share information with
We share personal information only with the service providers we need to run the cafe, and only as much as they need:

We may also disclose information where we are required or permitted to by law, for example in response to a valid court order, or where it is necessary to investigate a crime or protect someone's safety. If our business is ever sold or transferred, customer records may transfer with it, subject to this policy.
7. Where your information is held
Our service providers may store or process information on servers located in Canada and the United States. When information is held outside Canada it may be accessible to the courts and law enforcement of that country. We choose established providers who commit to appropriate safeguards.
8. How long we keep it

9. Your rights and choices
Under BC PIPA and PIPEDA you may:
- ask what personal information we hold about you and how it has been used;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- withdraw your consent to a particular use, where that is possible without preventing us from serving you or meeting a legal duty;
- ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep.
Write to us using the details in section 13. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we may not be able to delete records we are legally required to retain, such as sales records.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia (oipc.bc.ca) or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
10. Children
Our website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Young people are of course welcome in the cafe.
11. How we protect your information
We limit access to personal information to the people who need it to do their job, use reputable providers who maintain payment-industry security standards, and keep our website served over an encrypted connection. No system is perfectly secure, but we take these responsibilities seriously.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be noted on our homepage.
